Dr. Fernando Mosqueda was raised in East L.A. California. He enjoys various activities and is passionate about traveling and playing beach volleyball. You may see him on the beach front playing volleyball or riding his bike. He received his Bachelor Degree from Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA., in 1981. Graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1986. He is interested in dry eye, computer related fatigue, and the distressing of vision. Dr. Mosqueda enjoys the challenges of hard to fit contact lens patients.
He has lived in Chicago since 1990. Has many patients who have followed him over the years because of his chair side manor as well as his expertise in the exam room.
Dr. Mosqueda believes in giving back to his community. He does this by providing exams and eye glasses to the under privileged. Especially for children who are unable to afford glasses. It truly warms his heart to help those that are less fortunate, after all that is why he became an optometrist.
*Exams are available six days a week. The doctor takes a very consultative approach to the exam ensuring you fully understand the why and what of your eye health.
*Contact Lens exam are reviewed yearly by Illinois State Law. A follow-up exam is necessary and is included in the fitting fee.
Dr. Mosqueda is also able to treat and diagnose diseases such as conjunctivitis (pink eye), dry eye, keratosis, abrasions, allergies, bacterial, ulcers, contact lens overuse, foreign body, and can prescribe medicine if necessary
What should you expect at an eye exam?
Our doctor(s) will evaluate your eye health and medical history, check for signs of eye disease, and perform Visual Acuity Tests including Keratometry, Eye Movement, Pupils, Peripheral Vision Tests, Binocular Function Tests, Tonometry, Slit Lamp Evaluation, Direct and Indirect Ophthalmoloscopy.
